Riffs Truck Grand Opening!

Riffs Truck Grand Opening!

Last month, I raved about the culinary genius behind a new food truck that was coming to Nashville called Riffs Truck.  I was first introduced to Carlos and B.J.’s fine street fare on the Kenny’s Farmhouse Cheese tour, and I couldn’t wait for Riffs’ grand opening.  Well, they opened their business with a bang at the Richland Avenue Home and Garden Tour last weekend.  And guess who was there to enjoy the menu!  (Every BIT of the menu!  Yes, I had to have the $10 Try It All Special.  I didn’t want to miss a single thing.)

B.J. was happy to oblige!

Let me take you on a tour of Riff Truck’s amazing offerings.

Honey Ginger Green Tea

Simple, delicious, and refreshing, made with three basic ingredients:  honey, crystalized ginger, and green tea.

Blackened Tilapia Fish Taco with Cilantro Slaw and Sweet Corn Relish

Just look at that plate of color!

Now multiply it by about 20 and you have an idea of the incredible flavor.  So it’s not an exact mathematical formula, but you get the idea.  This food is a flavor explosion for your tastebuds!

The tilapia taco was the first to go, and I was so impressed that they offered a corn tortilla option for the gluten-free customers.

Jerk Chicken Tenderloin with Red Beans and Rice and Papaya Salsa

I love that nothing else on the menu had to be modified to be gluten free.  It’s just wholesome, nutritious food that’s packed with flavor and naturally gluten-free.

(And if you ever see anything on the menu made with Carlos’ jerk seasoning, you MUST try it.)

Riffs Truck even had Guava Panna Cotta for dessert.

Seriously.

Are you ready to get out there and see what the buzz is all about!  Riffs Truck has been making stops at Musician’s Corner in Centennial Park and the Woodbine Farmer’s Market every Saturday, but be sure to follow them on Twitter for updates.

Last weekend Ky Derby, this weekend Steeplechase, next weekend DC trip…it is killing me that my schedule is so packed that I haven’t gotten to eat from the truck yet!!

Fingers crossed that they’ll be out on Memorial Day weekend, as that’s one Saturday I’ll finally be available!

  2. Got to try the food from the truck this past Saturday at Musicians Corner. It was worth standing in the drizzle and cold. Amazing food and I haven’t stopped thinking about that tea all weekend!

  3. Agreed! Amazing food. That fish taco blew me away. I’ve had it twice now and hope it stays on the menu!

Has the “truck” scene exploded in Nashville too? Those tacos look amazing, I had to click through and read. A whole GF store just opened in NYC you would love it.

Finally got to Riffs today and saw this big Bajan smile in the back of the truck. Had the Fish Tacos and they were fantastic as was the grilled chicken. The only thing missing was a BIG MT GAY and tonic and a flying fish roti.

So glad you finally got to experience Riffs! I just love their authentic flavors!!! As a southern CA girl, it’s hard to find a good fish taco around here. Riff’s KILLS it!

A Curious Girl in the Gluten-Free World

I'm a curious girl, wife, teacher, friend, fitness fanatic, foodie, high raw vegan, child of the King, and Mama Cat. I've made the transition from baking and cooking gluten-free to creating raw vegan recipes that are naturally gluten free. My gluten intolerance opened up my diet to a whole new world of nutritious plant-based foods. And now I have another challenge ahead...I'm moving to New York City! I look forward to Living Raw Vegan in the City and sharing my experience with you.
