Let’s face it. Good gluten-free tortillas are hard to come by. Not only are there very few options, but the options we do have provide challenges. Memories of soft flour tortillas are but a distant memory for those of us who have lived gluten free for more than a few years. But those memories are soft and sweet, aren’t they? Don’t get me wrong. I’m very thankful for brown rice tortillas, but they do not behave at all like flour tortillas. They are tough, thick, and difficult to maneuver. They break easily and completely disintegrate when they come in contact with moisture. Wraps crack, burritos ooze, and pinwheels are just not even an option.
Until now.
Would you believe that these tortillas are gluten free?
They are thin like flour tortillas.
They bend like flour tortillas.
But they are completely gluten free.
And they come in plain, fiesta, and spinach flavors.
The spinach tortilla wrapped perfectly around my egg salad.
Most gluten-free wraps fall apart after the first bite.
But these pass The Bite Test.
And The Squeeze Test.
But what about with a juicy filling like Pam’s Easy Chicken Tacos?
Chicken slow cooked in salsa provided the perfect test of durability. Served both taco and burrito style, this Fiesta Tortilla held up despite the moistness of the filling.

Not only can these tortillas bend without breaking, they can roll.
Tightly.
A perfect almond butter and jelly snack.
I think we have pinwheels in our future!
So who makes these gluten-free wonder tortillas?
Rudi’s Gluten-Free Bakery now makes three types of gluten-free tortillas, which are also dairy free and nut free. Rudi’s Plain Tortillas, Fiesta Tortillas, and Spinach Tortillas are equally delicious. I can’t even choose a favorite, and for this picky cat that’s saying a lot.
Readers, dish!
- Have you tried Rudi’s Gluten-Free Tortillas?
- Have you found a gluten-free tortilla that you love?
- What is the hardest filling to wrap in a gluten-free tortilla?
(Disclaimer: I have no connection to nor was I paid by Rudi’s Bakery. I did receive complimentary samples sent for me to taste and review. I do not give positive reviews just because the product was free but will always give my honest opinion.)

Aaaaahhhhh! I have been looking for them everywhere! They look so good!
I have also been looking for them all over with no luck. I wish someone sold them online. I really want to try the spinach and fiesta favors.
That’s great news, Mari! I am hoping to have that same success when I hit up our Whole Foods this weekend.
I found them at Gluten free mall. I love them!!!

Thank you, Yevette! The gluten-free mall can supply us all while we wait for them to come to our stores!
After reading your review, I immediately called my local natural foods store. They will be ordering them today and I will have them next week….can’t wait!
Ooh, this is great! I did buy some gluten-free tortilla wraps a while back and they were AWFUL. And yes, they did fall apart, negating the “wrap” part. I couldn’t even finish the package. I love Rudi’s bread, so I will have to try these the next time I go to the store! I wish you would pick a favorite, though
I had a spinach wrap for lunch today and declared it was my favorite. Then I had the fiesta for dinner and declared that one to be my favorite. SORRY! I think my favorite is the one I’ve just finished.
Hahaha! I think I’ll like the fiesta or plain ones the best
Sounded good.
I love them for a wrap with hummus, spinach, peppers, turkey and avacado. Tried them at LA GF expo last spring sponsored by Celiac Disease Foundation So Calif. My local GF bankers (aren’t we lucky in Clovis/Fresno???) has them in stock. My only draw back is that they are expensive, $8 for pkg of 8. Worth it though.
Oh I think you just described the perfect wrap, Jana! YUM! But $8.00 for a package? Wow! My local store doesn’t yet carry them, but will be asking them to soon.
I’d pay $8.00. They’re that good. But maybe not weekly.

Does anyone know if they contain corn or cornstarch. My husband doesn’t eat gluten OR corn or sugar or dairy!
Thanks!! Looks great!
Julie, sorry. They do contain corn flour and cornstarch. Thanks so much for stopping by!
Great review Heather. Love this one. Your fun loving personality shines through! I might just have to get me some and I don’t even follow a gluten free diet.
Sadly, Rudi’s is not available up here in Ontario. Do you hear that Maggie?????!!!!!
Thanks for making me drool though Heather lol!

Blast! I thought you were going to have a recipe for them! They look so good though! Do
they have xanthan gum in them? I try to avoid that because it seems to bother my stomach, but they are awfully tempting!
Sorry Lauren, the do contain xanthum gum. See ingredients here http://www.rudisglutenfree.com/gluten-free-bread/products/plain-tortillas/
Thanks,
