It’s the end of Paleo Week, and as promised I have a wonderful giveaway for you! I’m giving away one copy of the famed cookbook Eat Like a Dinosaur by the Paleo Parents. Before I tell you about the book, let me tell you where this is coming from.
Back in June I had an amazing experience at the gfe retreat and had a chance to meet Stacy and Matt at Shirley’s Gluten-Free Support Group meeting. Stacy shared their inspirational story of how their family transitioned from the Standard American Diet to eating Paleo and gluten free. Stacy and her husband have since lost over 200 pounds combined and have resolved health issues such as depression, seasonal and pet allergies, sleeping disorders, IBS, heartburn, and joint pain. They have three very active boys who no longer have behavior disorders, asthma, eczema, seasonal and pet allergies, or stomach aches. And the boys have learned that eating healthily can be great fun.

Stacy and Matt’s son Cole went through a dramatic change in behavior as he changed from being a child with serious self control issues to “the best behaved student in school” almost overnight. As a teacher, I can think of a few rambunctious kids in my classroom who need to try Paleo!
The highlight of the support group potluck was Stacy’s Samoa Brownies. It is incredible to me that these brownies are gluten-free, grain-free, and dairy-free…and I know my way around a gluten-free kitchen!
This plate was enough to make me a Paleo fan!
But seriously, you all know I align myself more with vegetarians and have a deep love of raw food. That is why it has taken me almost 6 months to review Eat Like a Dinosaur and share it with you. As I’ve shared recently, I have been eating more animal proteins, and the Husband is a new Paleo fan. So here are a few of our favorite dishes from the Paleo Parents’ cookbook.
Yes, these are Chicken Nuggets, or Fool’s Gold, as the Paleo Family calls them. Aren’t they gorgeous? Coated with a delicious almond flour and herb “breading”, these gluten-free tenders brought out the kids in us. One of the best things about this cookbook is that each recipe includes ways that kids can help as part of the preparation instructions. What kid wouldn’t enjoy dredging chicken in flour? I sure did!

Salmon is already a favorite of ours, but this Lemon Dill Salmon was a new twist and super easy to make. How can the kids help with this traditionally grown up dish? Rubbing the fillets with olive oil and herbs, and decorating the top with lemon rounds. How could a kid say, “I don’t like this,” when they’ve had such a hand in making the meal?

This teacher loves Paleo Parent Style!
Eat Like a Dinosaur isn’t just a recipe book. It’s also a guidebook for parents. There’s a section just for parents that explains their story, transitioning the family to paleo life, kitchen tools they use, and recipe ingredients. But even higher on the coolness meter is that it contains a kids’ book complete with cartoon pictures that tells the family story through Cole’s point of view.
This is a great book for families, which is why I’d love to give it away to a mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, aunt uncle…who’d like to share it with his/her family. All you have to do is make a comment below to enter. Let me know why you’d like to have Eat Like a Dinosaur.

We’re not strictly Paleo eaters, but like to add it to the mix. Seems like this book has some great recipes!
i am working my way towards Paleo. I am already gluten free and working on dropping the dairy. It has been difficult for me
i would love to win Eat Like a Dinosaur so i can learn fun, kid friendly recipes that my 2 year old will eat
Checked this book out of the library. Lots of fun. Would love to win it!
This is one of our favorite books! Just tweeted your giveaway. Always looking to share the love of Paleo with more parents

Love hearing Stacy’s weekly podcasts…and love eating like a dinosaur!
I’ve been eating paleo since July. Within a week of eliminating grains and sugar from my diet, my chronic joint pain disappeared. Gone. DISAPPEARED. My stiff neck… gone. My energy level… skyrocketed. I’ve lost 25 pounds since July and even changed our dog’s food from “Lamb and Rice” to a grain-free “Sweet Potato and Salmon”… So funny that my husband wasn’t convinced of pale by watching me shrink or hear me rave about being pain free… it was watching our 85lb mutt go from barely being able to stand up, walking with a limp to running and jumping like a puppy again!!!
Interested in changing my families diet, with getting the dairy and gluten out.
Liked the page.
Yes, I let my kids help in the kitchen!
I’ve liked you on Facebook (Jonnelle Rein) and tweeted (@j_rein)
Thanks
We are eating more paleo style so I would love to win this. Thanks.
I would like to win the book so I can give it to my brother and sister-in-law. They have an 18 month old and it would be great for her to eat paleo from the start
I eat paleo most of the time (but still have a weakness of good cheese and dairy). I switched because I wanted to try natural ways of healing before my (now old) endocrinologist wanted to nuke my thyroid.
The homeopath I was seeing suggested this way of eating.
I’ve been much happier since the switch. My health improved. My skin improved and I just feel soooo much better.
And my thyroid levels returned to normal.
We *just* started eating paleo. My 3 yr old has been gluten free several months and it has helped tremendously with her ASD and tummy troubles. My littlest is dairy free. So it kind of made sense for us to try it. This book would be a huge help!
I’ve been reading up on paleo and have been working on cutting out grains and dairy. Our house is refined sugar free thanks to kids reactions and they are stuck on bread. We’re working on changing out how we eat, but the kids are really hard to change. They don’t like to try new foods and one is pretty much a vegetarian with limited foods. I’ve been staring at this book for awhile wanting to try it out.
I’ve become a big fan of Matt and Stacy. I started gravitating towards eating Paleo in the last year after being diagnosed with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Adopting a clean eating lifestyle devoid of grains, legumes, processed foods and refined sugars has enabled me to drop 40lbs.
I’m always looking for new meal ideas, especially ones that are quick and easy. I have tried several of the recipes that Matt and Stacy have on their website so I’m excited about checking out the recipes in their book.
I mostly eat vegetarian but my daughter nearly lives off of meat. She clearly does best- health wise- eating gluten-free and lots of meat. This book would help my husband cook for her!
My “children” are not very good in the kitchen, though paleo eating was part of their lifestyle before mine. But then, since they are four legged and furred (i.e. cats), what can you expect?
I haven’t made much in the way of “treats” yet, focusing on main entrées and side dishes. However, I *did* make Matt and Stacy’s Monkey Bread for a Thanksgiving treat and boy was it good!
I am the lone Paleo eater in a non-Paleo household. I’ve found a few things that my boys will eat (they’re ages 5 and 6), but I think this book would be a great way for me to move them more towards eating Paleo…..let them look through the book and pick out what they want me to cook for them (or have them help)!
My kids love helping in the kitchen. They have a little play kitchen in there too to pretend along with me, and we have large plastic knives for them to help chop things up too.
So far my favorite treat are cashews or some almond butter. We haven’t branched out to the paleo baked goods yet.
I just won $4.00 in the recent ginormous Powerball… so I feel like a winner! I’d love to win – I am sharing Paleo with tons of people and would love to have the book in my library. Paleo is a win-win all the way around. ‘Great to find your website!
I would love to have this book so that I can start teaching my 18 month old son to eat like a dinosaur!
Are you a Paleo eater? If so, why have you made that choice?
I had great success eating Paleo for about 4 months and I lost 20 lbs. Then I got pregnant and have strayed a bit, but still sick to many of the Paleo basics. I hope to go back to Paleo eating once the baby is born to help lose the baby weight!
We eat for our metabolic type which is fast oxidizer which is basically a paleo diet! I’m new 2 some of the paleo websites & am in my glory that I have too many recipes & not enough time 2 try them all!
Why would you like to win Eat Like a Dinosaur ?
I would love to win ELaD so that I can get some inspiration for new family-friendly Paleo recipes!
My 4 kids are always bugging me 2 make them what their friends are eating & this book should give me that opportunity! They would be ecstatic if I won this!!!
My kids absolutely help in the kitchen! It’s our family’s living room. Lol!
Our favorite paleo treat so far is the brownies! I have LOTS more cookin to do & try though!
I eat gluten-free due to joint pain, and have wondered if Paleo might help even more…I just have no clue what it’s all about, so the book would be a huge help.
fabulous! would love to build some enthusiasm in my grain-free kid!
I would absolutely LOVE to win Eat Like A Dinosaur because we are adopting our first baby in just a few short weeks! I can’t wait to try that “fools gold” for myself, but also am looking forward to raising a healthy paleo-eating son! Thanks so much for the giveaway!
I would like to win Eat like a Dinosaur because we have been looking to expand our recipes into the paleo category for some time, but have been lacking the final push – this would give me the easy and healthy way to do it.
My two boys are a little on the young side but help nonetheless. The 2.5 year old often sits on the counter and helps me mix/pour and measure. The 10 month old has his own set of bowls and spoons on a shelf that he can play with. If only I could get my husband in the kitchen, too!
So happy to have found you. I’m looking for ways to cook for my family and work and not spend a mint on food. We NEED Paleo for all of us, but especially for one of my kiddos who has food intolerances. Finding other parents who have been doing this and are creative enough to share their information is a very helpful find. So glad you’re on facebook!
And my kids are getting into Dinosaurs, so that will help us out!
And we need recipes that aren’t so heavy on the spicy spices. My kids refuse a lot of my Paleo meat recipes due to their spicy nature. Any help is appreciated.
Ok, I admit it, I want to win the giveaway!
Love that you’re doing a giveaway, even if I don’t win.
I liked you on Facebook today – thanks!
I’d love to win a copy of this wonderful book. I borrowed it from the library, and EVERY dish I tried was great.
My kids like to help in the kitchen. I have five boys so one of them is always available to stir, crack an egg, chop, or lick a bowl clean.
I started eating paleo to heal my IBS.
I would love to win this book because their blog is one of my favorites!
Liked you on Facebook.
I have been paleo since last Feb, I went paleo for health reasons and never looked back. I am down 25 lbs, one blood pressure med and my depression is so much better!
I would love to win ELaD because I would love a book that helps with the transition to paleo and involves the kids!!
I have 6 yr old b/g twins and they both enjoy helping.
Right now my favorite paleo treat is fruit because I am still working on baking, which is another reason I would love the book!!
Well since I have issues with following directions I am just copying 2 of the answers from the last post!

I shared this chance on Twitter!!
I liked your page on fb!
I would like to win this because there are not many things I can eat and lately I’ve become bored with eating… I’m constantly searching for new recipes and this would be such a great help! Thanks for the giveaway!
My favorite paleo treat is paleo banana bread! Thanks!

I have been starting to incorporate Paleo eating once or twice a week.
I would love to win this book so I could try some new Paleo recipes.
I want to win. I liked you on facebook!
I’m trying to eat Paleo and hope that this cookbook will get the whole family on board!
I would love this book! I need a way to get my kids on board with paleo. They will skip supper at least 3 nights a week, because they don’t like what I’ve cooked. It gets frustrating when you can’t sit down and enjoy a meal with your family with out feeling like a bad guy for forcing them to eat. Some things they like, some they don’t.
My family and i havent been eating well and I think this book could put us on the right path!
I am just learning about the Paleo Diet and have actually been eating that way for the most part not knowing it was even a specific diet! Now that I know about it, I am going to be more careful to follow it more closely.
I’d like to win this book to learn more about this diet and to convert my kids to eating this way also!
My kids do help in the kitchen, although they are still kind of young. But they do what they can.
I am not yet a true paleo eater, but I have dabbled a little. After the holidays I am going to try it strict for 30 days- I’m really excited! I hope to become healthier, including maintaining a healthy weight.
I’d love to win this book because I think it would help me a lot- I follow Paleo Parents blog and always look forward to their recipes.
I made these caramel chocolate coffee bars from paleOMG and they were awesome!
Not paleontology but trying to go more inthat direction to see if my health improves.
Sorry, my last entry got auto corrected.
I want the book because I was vegetarian for 15 years and need help making the transition with my family.

Closer to Primal than Paleo because I tend to add fermented dairy and cheese every so often. I’d love to get this book because I think it’d be a great gift for my brother and his family who have been tossing around the idea of doing Paleo.
