My Power Juice: Day 5

3 Comments 07 January 2014

Balanced PlatterIt’s Day 5 of my New Year’s Juicing Challenge, and I thought you might be wondering how it’s going. In general, it’s going remarkably well. So far it has been one of the easiest cleanses I’ve ever done. I just try not to do the math often. 30 minus 5 equals 25. WHAT? I committed to 25 more days of this????

I did start to wonder a bit about brain function when I had two space cadet moments at school today.

1. I walked into the wrong classroom. I justified this with the fact that I did switch classrooms 3 days ago. Old habits die hard.

2. I thought I saw a pigeon in the classroom. Just for a split second. It turned out to be a kid’s foot, but my justification is that I must be on my way to becoming a New Yorker. Dodging pigeons on the sidewalk is just a part of daily life!

I’ll share more about the cleanse tomorrow, but today I’m sharing a long time favorite juice recipe over at The Balanced Platter, and I’d love for you to swing by and check it out. In fact, it’s this one:

So come on over and check out my Power Juice!

  2. Happy New Year Heather :)
I think it’s marvelous that you are doing a juice challenge and to honor your dedication I have decided to get onto the juice wagon as well. Thanks for your inspiration and I hope you have had a smooth start in the New Year.

Keep up the good work. You must be feeling amazing now – I only did two days of detox this week and I feel really good. I ate only quinoa or brown rice with hummus and veg.

And I had a juice on New Year’s day, alongside a visit to the coastal Spa – a must to see in the New Year 😉

    Here’s to a successful 2014 x

A Curious Girl in the Gluten-Free World

I'm a curious girl, wife, teacher, fitness fanatic, gluten-free foodie, high-raw vegan, and Mama Cat living in NYC. I've made the transition from baking and cooking gluten-free to creating raw vegan recipes that are naturally gluten free. My gluten intolerance opened up my diet to a whole new world of nutritious plant-based foods. While I'm not 100% vegan, it's my favorite way to eat, and making and sharing raw foods makes me giddy. Living in the City has its joys and challenges, and I enjoy sharing my experiences with you.
