Green Protein Breakfast Bowl and a Growing Naturals Review

Many vegans claim that they can get all of the protein that they need from plants, nuts, and seeds. I think my body needs a bit more than most, so I supplement with high quality protein powders. I’m extremely picky about my protein powders. Not only must they consist of raw vegan ingredients, they have to taste good and have a smooth texture.

I receive a lot of requests to review products, and I turn most of them down after a quick Google search. But when Growing Naturals contacted me about reviewing their protein powders I had a feeling that this would be a product that you and I might like.

I tried all 5 of their protein powders, two brown rice proteins and two yellow pea proteins. Of course the first one I tried was the Chocolate Power Organic Rice Protein, because my go-to smoothie ingredient is usually chocolate protein powder. Chocolate Power has a rich, deep cocoa flavor that enhances many of my morning smoothies.

It mixes well and the texture is smooth. You can tell from this picture that it isn’t at all grainy. It has 24 grams of protein and only 2 grams of sugar.

I suggest trying this powder with any berry or banana-based smoothie like these:

The Original Organic Rice Protein is perfect for boosting the protein content of a food or drink without changing the flavor. It was perfect with my Sunshine Juice which has a powerful flavor of its own.

This is another smooth powder that mixes well and contains 24 grams of protein yet no sugar.

The Vanilla Blast Organic Rice Protein has a delicious vanilla flavor that I use in many of my green smoothies.

I highly recommend using a scoop of Vanilla Blast with any of these smoothies:

Again you can see the velvety texture that has absolutely no graininess.

I didn’t expect to love the yellow pea protein powders. As you may recall, I’m not a pea fan. But I LOVE these products! They have 15 grams of protein, and the Original flavor has 1 gram of sugar while the Vanilla Blast has 3 grams.

I love the Original Yellow Pea Protein in my green juices. It doesn’t change the flavor of the juice yet provides enough protein to fuel my late afternoon workout.

The Original has a slightly earthy taste on its own which can’t be tasted at all when mixed with these juices:

I’ve saved the best for last. I bet you thought that my favorite was going to be the Chocolate Power. That’s my second favorite. But my favorite of all of these wonderful powders is the Vanilla Blast Yellow Pea Protein. Are you as shocked as I am?

I used this delicious powder to create my new favorite breakfast cereal which is packed with protein and superfoods. Just make sure to brush your teeth before heading out for the day!

Ingredients:

Directions:

1. Place all dry ingredients in a bowl.

2. Pour in nut milk while stirring. Stir to mix well.

3. Cover and place in the refrigerator overnight or for at least an hour.

Serves 1

The subtle sweetness of the Vanilla Blast compliments the natural flavors of these ingredients making every spoonful a delight.

    Hey Heather. Great review! Wow. I often recommend pea protein powder in my recipes that use gelatin (for my raw or vegan friends). Pea protein is fabulous!

  8. Oooh new protein powder! I’ll have to look for these guys. I just finished off some raw protein powder that was just ok. I just bought some Vega and I am not loving it… to be honest, I don’t think I can use it. It tastes way too sweet :/
